Our Story
“I went to Italy and China to learn how the world’s best safety boots are made. I came back to Nigeria to prove we could make them better — and test them better — right here.”

Shamsideen Atunde founded Yikodeen Safety in 2016 with a small team and a modest workshop in Surulere, Lagos. His first production run was just 20 pairs per day. His conviction: Nigeria could produce world-class safety footwear.

From those humble beginnings in Surulere, YIKODEEN has grown into West Africa’s premier safety footwear manufacturer. With our newly commissioned world-class manufacturing facility in Ejigbo, Lagos — the first of its kind in West Africa — we now have the capacity to produce over 5,000 pairs in 24 hours, powered by a skilled team of 500 employees, over 61% of whom are women.

We combine cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship to create safety footwear specifically engineered for Nigerian and African industrial environments. Every pair is tested in West Africa’s most equipped PPE testing laboratory — certified by TÜV, Intertek and SGS.

At YIKODEEN, we believe proper protection is not just about meeting standards — it’s about understanding the unique challenges workers face daily. With YIKODEEN Safety, we stand with you to help protect your workers so they can go home safe and sound at the end of every day.
